The month of October is awesome at Pretend City.  Tons of events to attend.


Celebrate Mad Hatter Day! | October 6: It’s tea time! Join us as we celebrate the Mad Hatter and become a little mad ourselves! We will have fun activities all day long including hat making, a tea party, dancing, and art. Alice and the Hare will make an appearance as well!

Young Authors Workshop-Spooky Tales | October 18: BOO! Gather ‘round as we share some ghost stories! This workshop allows children to stretch their imaginations as they create their own spooky tales in the spirit of Halloween! Storymakery teaches children different aspects of storytelling, including plot, characters, story development, etc. Whether they decide to imagine a friendly ghost or a spooky zombie, children will design their own story online, using kid-friendly technology! Read for the Record Celebrates The Bear Ate Your Sandwich!| October 27: The Bear Ate Your Sandwich! This delightful story will be shared across the country today as children and adults celebrate literacy in the largest shared reading experience, as part of Jumpstart’s premiere national campaign. Together, we will partake in some beary fun activities as we follow a bear in his adventure back to the forest.

Costume Week | October 24-October 30: Black cats and witch’s brew, we want to dress up with you! Wear your costume to Pretend City this whole week and receive 25% off your second admission!

Healthy Halloween | October 28: Happy Healthy Halloween! This time of year brings lots of treats and sweets into kids’ lives that may make them fall into a junk food funk. Serving Kids Hope is joining us at Pretend City to share fun tips and tricks to keep your kids eating healthy this Halloween!

Trick-Or-Treat Through the City | October 31: Pirates, Ghosts, & Princesses Pretty! Come Trick-Or-Treating at Pretend City! On Halloween, we are having a special trick-or-treat extravaganza for all our friends! Stop by the museum and take part in our Halloween Bug Bash as well as trick-or-treat at different stations through the city! We will surely have a ghouly good time!
