Check out the following places for free or low cost to bring your family to.  Please always call ahead to make sure there are no special events resulting in closures.

The Huntington

As of September 2007, all non-member visitors to The Huntington on "Free Day" (the first Thursday of the month) must have a ticket.

Tickets are free and can be requested online or by calling our ticketing agency at 800-838-3006. You may choose from two arrival times: morning (10:30 a.m.) or afternoon (1:30 p.m.) below. A limited quantity will be available the first day of each month at 9 a.m. preceding the month you wish to visit. (For example, if you wish to visit on August Free Day, you may call for tickets beginning July 1). Please note that Free Day tickets are not available at The Huntington, and may only be reserved by phone or online. You may not purchase regular admission tickets on Free Day.
Please note due to the popularity of Free Day, website and telephone traffic to our ticket agency is heavy and all tickets are generally reserved within several minutes. If you do not get tickets one month, you are welcome to try again the following month.

How To Get Tickets:
•General visitors: call 800-838-3006 to reserve your tickets by phone, or reserve your tickets online selecting from two arrival times:
?I would like tickets for the morning entry (10:30 a.m. - noon) 
?I would like tickets for the afternoon entry (1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

Target Free Days
Thanks to an Arts & Culture grant from TARGET, we are able to provide free themed family days to the local community. These days feature workshops, performances and free Museum admission on one designated Sunday each month. A limited number of hand stamps are given for Museum entrance for 1:00 p.m. & 3:15 p.m time slots on the day of the event and are subject to availability.
To attend, line up early either for the 1pm or 3:15pm entrance.
Oct 4: You're A Star! Learn lines, use props, dress up and be stars in an impromptu production on our outdoor stage!
 
Nov 1: Day of the Dead Celebration  Visitors will enjoy the festivities while making decorated sugar skulls and whimsical Calaveras masks, as well as traditional face painting.
 
Dec 6: Festivals of Lights Celebrate international festivals of lights including Diwali, Hanukkah and Las Posadas. 

Jan 3, 2016  Lunar New Year   A celebration of the beginning of the calendar year honored by Asian cultures.

Feb 7: African American Heritage  Be inspired by tales of strength as told by Master storytellers. Activity stations will offer the opportunity to create story quilt squares and corn husk dolls.

Mar 6: Let's Play! Hula hoop til you can't hula anymore, build giant outdoor structures, and run through a crazy obstacle course!

April 3: Reduce, Reuse , Recycle  We're learning how to care for our precious Earth with activities from composting to creating whimsical art with recycled materials.

May 1: Art Escape Arts Festival An array of art experiences for even the youngest of artists!

June 5: Railroad Round Up! A nod to the Museum’s train heritage with miniature trains chugging in outdoor demonstrations brought to us by local train enthusiasts Toy Train Operating Society.
