NEURO-IGNITE WORKSHOPS
The Neuro-Ignite workshop series introduces neuroscience concepts in a highly interactive manner, with a curriculum designed to excite middle school and high school students about the field of neuroscience and beyond. These workshops integrate technology, hands-on activities, experiments and online resources to introduce students to the science of the brain and nervous system. The workshops are conducted by students of Whitney High School. Space limited to 27.

Children are invited to participate in a discussion of the book "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. Children will work together to discuss plot summary and important elements within the story such as themes, character development, imagery, etc. Children are expected to be advanced readers to participate. HOMEWORK HELP
An afterschool homework help program is offered for Cerritos resident students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. There will be two sessions each on Mondays and Wednesdays in the Art Studio of the Children's Library. Students should bring their homework and a book to read or their library card to check out reading material to each class meeting. A parent or a designated individual is required to sign students in and out of class. Sign up early. Space limited to 12. Please register for only one of the two Homework Help sessions.
