Cerritos Library: Contests for talented teens

The Friends of the Cerritos Library will conduct the 19th Annual Teen Contests to encourage teens to explore their talents. The contests in art, photography, poetry and short story are open to all students with valid Cerritos Library cards and attending grades 7 through 12.

All entries must be original. Only one entry per person is allowed for each of the categories. Gift certificates to a local bookstore will be presented to the winners at a reception in May. Entry forms are available at the Library. The deadline for all entries is Friday, March 24 at 9 p.m.


Themes and Specifications

Art: "Imaginary Spaces" (No larger than 12"x18"and using any medium. Three-dimensional art will be accepted.)

Photography: "Celebration" (No larger than 8"x10")

Poetry: "Transformation" (Up to 50 lines)

Short Story: "Out of Place" (No more than 500 words)
