My husband and I recently had the opportunity to throw our three year old son a super hero themed birthday party at the local The Little Gym of Lakewood. It was by far one of the most comprehensive party packages we have seen.
The Little Gym is centrally located near the Lakewood Center, with plenty of free parking for our guests. We arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled start time, and we found the eating area and gym area pristine and prepared for our use. The eating area was already decorated, with tables, plates, napkins & tablecloth all setup. Colorful balloons and streamers lined the walls and there was plenty of counter space for us to display our food and snacks. All we had to do was unload our food, drinks and party favors and we were ready to greet our guests!
We really liked that a glass wall separates the eating area from the gym area. Adults could talk and eat without the kids running through and without having to talk loudly just to be heard over the kidsā rambunctious sounds. Both areas were very spacious. We had nearly the maximum of twenty children plus accompanying adults and we never felt cramped.
The staff greeted all our guests after us and gave each child a wristband, so they got to know every single attendee. Then, right on time, the activities commenced! The kids ran, jumped, climbed, swung, rolled, slid and balanced themselves all over the gym while the two instructors guided them. Ms. Claire truly has a gift with children--they were all lining up at her word and doing all kinds of fun things they couldnāt do at home. And even though most activities were tailored to our son (whoās three), they were carefully chosen so children as young as one and as old as ten were laughing and joining in. Our favorite part came near the end, when it came time to take a group photo. Now, how to wrangle all these kids into one spot? The instructors had all the kids ātie upā the āvillainā (a guest who volunteered) with toilet paper on the balance beam and they all lined up to show off what daring super heroes they were. Everyone had a hearty laugh and one-of-a-kind pictures to share later.
An hour and twenty minutes went by in a flash and then the instructors lead the kids out of the gym for food and cake. Everyone got some crucial hand sanitizer before sitting down. All the kids were ravenous (we managed to polish off four pizzas, party trays of rice, beans, bread and chicken, AND birthday cake in twenty minutes flat). The Little Gym takes care of the cake; they light the candles, bring out the cake, lead the singing, then whisk the cake off to be cut and served. After everyone had eaten, they thanked our guests and gave everyone our party favors and a coupon for a free class (with our permission). Our little birthday boy even received a free The Little Gym T-shirt. Next comes our favorite part, they did all the cleanup work! Woo-hoo!
Booking parties for your little one is now easy and stress-free. The Little Gym is also happy to give you a free tour. Other than parties, The Little Gym of Lakewood offers year-round classes.
