Cinépolis is more than movie watching, It’s an experience. Arrival to the theater was fairly effortless. They provide ample parking, multiple access doors, and a giant box office that scanned my e-tickets with ease. The lobby was impressive. It boasts two stories and tons of advertising for upcoming features. The 'elevated' snack bar refers to the new options like traditional buffalo wings, gourmet quesadillas, beef sliders, Pita & hummus, Panini, Cheetos Popcorn, chicken tenders and an array of classic goodies (nachos, soft drinks, popcorn) available for purchase.
The entrance to the actual Junior cinema is very attractive to children and adults alike. It displays a lit candy brick theme that only gets better upon entrance. The kids shouted, "Yay!" when they finally caught a glimpse of the embedded playground contained inside the theater. It has a gated play area right near the screen where kids can put their shoes and hats in a cubby whilst they run and jump in a full sized playground. Parents have a good view of their children from any point in the theater for peace of mind.
Once you get over the first impression of the size and stimulating decor of the Junior Cinépolis theater, you are once again pleasantly surprised to see that there is a multi-level slide/jungle gym adjacent to the aisle that leads to the seating area. The screen projected a one-minute timer, before the movie started to give parents and children enough time to get to their seats. There are several seats options, which are assigned during purchase. You can choose traditional theater chairs, lounge chairs and two types of bean bags (that are sold in pairs). That option alone was exciting not only to us but to our kids. (Seats are assigned when you purchase tickets so no need to worry about “saving” a good seat).
We enjoyed the state of the art sound and giant curved screen in the bean bag chair area where we laid back and relaxed for the showing of our film. There is a fifteen minute intermission, during which the family can once again, take advantage of the marvelous facilities. It was great for the kids to take a necessary break from sitting to release the movie theater wiggles and play to their heart's content before we enjoyed the rest of the movie. Cinépolis is an awesome family oriented experience that you and yours are not ever going to forget.
There are a few rules that come with enjoying the movie and playground. The playground and jungle gym can only be used before the film and during the intermission. A child must always be accompanied by an adult and an adult must always be accompanied by a child, so no stray adults can come in (love that). Only rated G and PG movies are played in Cinépolis Junior. We now definitely consider Cinépolis Junior Pico Rivera as our number one destination for family film fun.
