Summer Reading Programs

Get rewards for reading all summer long

Keep the kids reading all Summer long. 


Take part in the following summer reading programs.



Summer Reading and Discovery, County of Los Angeles Public Libraries

Open to all ages (even adults). Must register in advance (online or at your local LA County Public Library). Earn rewards for reading books and completing missions. 


Reading By Design, OC Public Libraries

Summer Reading Kick Off begins June 18th reading.

Enjoy a variety of fun activities 


Summer Reading By Design, Signal Hill Public Library

Readers of all ages can read and earn rewards at the Signal Hill Public Library. 


Summer Reading, Long Beach Public Libraries

Readers of all ages can earn rewards for reading. Must register in advance. Head over to any of the 12 Long Beach Public Library location. 


Summer Reading Program, Barnes and Noble

1st to 6th graders earn a free book of their choice (from those listed on the back of the summer reading journal) after reading eight books and recording them in their summer reading journal. 


Summer Reading Challenge, Los Angeles Public Libraries

Open to kids of all ages.. Must register before participating. Earn a prize simply by registering. Prize can be redeemed at any Los Angeles Public Library.


Sylvan Book Adventure

Find a book to read from their collection of about 8,000 books. Take quizzes on the books you have read and earn points that can be redeemed for a prize from the Prize library. Must register in advance. 


Chuck E. Cheese’s

Earn 10 free tokens for reading (also for chores, behavior, etc). Food purchase is required to redeem.


Scholastic 

Kids ages zero to 18 can read, log minutes, and earn rewards. From May 8th to September 8th.
